Susmita Sunar

Susmita came to us from a family that has historically been discriminated against for being considered of a lower caste.  Although the caste system is illegal in Nepal, the social stigma still remains. Despite this type of discrimination, Susmita wanted to continue her education to become an English teacher in the village.

Susmita was one of the eight girls who graduated in 2014. Even though she completed grade 10, she is pursuing further studies and is now studying in Tribhuwan Adarsha College.
