Susmita Sunar

Susmita came to us from a family that has historically been discriminated against for being considered of a lower caste.  Although the caste system is illegal in Nepal, the social stigma still remains. Despite this type of discrimination, Susmita wanted to continue her education to become an English teacher in the village.

Susmita was one of the eight girls who graduated in 2014. After finishing high school, she is pursuing further education and is now also working as a mentor with the foundation. Her growth from scholar to mentor is one of the biggest successes of the foundation.

Sushmita went from being a scholar to a mentor, and now loves helping younger Scholars.
