
The Rukmini Foundation successfully conducted a two-month Computer Training Program for SEE graduates, covering both Basic and Advanced levels. There were 100 participants including 80 students and 20 Rukmini staff and guests.
On July 2nd a Certificate Distribution Ceremony was held at Shikharapur School Meeting Hall to honor the students’ hard work and achievements. The program focused on recognizing their hard work demonstrated at the training and celebrating their success in the SEE examination. The program was mostly informal and was hosted by the students.
Objectives of the Program
- To celebrate the successful completion of computer training.
- To extend heartfelt congratulations on passing the SEE examination.
- To motivate the students to continue learning and growing.
- To create a memorable moment that acknowledges their efforts and potential.

Program Highlights
The formal program was hosted by Mr. Niroj Shrestha, a staff member at Shikharapur CLC.
Distinguished personalities included Senior teachers and Principal from Shikharapur School, Cardinal School, Arunodaya School and local Leaders and Municipal official Deputy Mayor Basanti Dangol. They shared some words of wisdom to the participating students and the Foundation for the program.
Mr. Binod Mahat, Principal of Shikharapur School, warmly welcomed all participants. He expressed pride in the students’ achievements, noting: “This is more than a certificate—it represents your skill, effort, and growth. Completing SEE and this training within the same period is a remarkable milestone. We are proud of you all.”
Mr. Niroj Shrestha shared the history of computer access in Dakshinkali Municipality. Nearly 19 years ago, he and Mr. Sashi Sharma Aryal (Chairperson of Rukmini Foundation) initiated efforts to introduce technology in local schools by purchasing a projector and organizing various programs. With support from the Education Minister, they secured a budget of Rs. 5 lakh (500K NPR), enabling the distribution of computers to government schools. Their vision helped lay the foundation for today’s digital learning environment.

Mr. Sanjaya Lama appreciated the role of Rukmini Foundation and Shikharapur School in shaping responsible citizens.

Deputy Mayor Ms. Basanti Dangol distributed the certificates and praised the students for using their time wisely.
“At a young age, these students have chosen learning and community work. They are using technology positively. I’m proud to share that 90% of them passed the SEE exam.”
Prof. Yagya Prasad Gaire, Teacher- Cardinal Secondary School expressed his admiration for Pharping, stating:
“We used to read about Pharping in textbooks. Now I work here and see its potential. This training marks a new beginning in your lives. Let nature and knowledge guides your growth.”
Mr. Umesh Ram Khatri, Teacher – Arunodaya Secondary School emphasized the importance of adapting to change:
“We live in a time where technology is essential. Computers are like engines—they drive progress. We must learn and evolve with the changing world.”
Computer Trainer Bipin Maharjan acknowledged the dedication of the students, highlighting their regular attendance and active involvement in both leadership and community service, such as local cleaning campaigns. Bipin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to both teach and learn alongside them.

Students Sharing Joy and Happiness
Following the formal proceedings, students shifted the atmosphere to joy and celebration showing their talents in a vibrant way. The students expressed their happiness and creativity through music, dance, and musical performances.
The cultural program was very enjoyable to all and the students seemed to enjoy it more. Still, the main part – Certificate Distribution was yet to come. To end the program, Chairperson Mr. Shashi Sharma was called to present the certificate to the Computer Training participants.

The moment of pride arrived when Mr. Sashi Sharma Aryal presented certificates to all students, recognizing their dedication and hard work over the past two months.
To encourage overall development, the training program evaluated students based on weekly test scores, participation in extra activities, and overall engagement. Based on these criteria, special rewards were presented:
- Nijan received a Diary and Pen for securing 1st position in Typing.
- Utkrishta and Shen were recognized for their outstanding scores and active participation.
- Jyoti Karki was honored for meeting all criteria and achieving the highest overall score.
Conclusion
The day ended with joy, pride, and celebration. It was clear that the students gained not only technical skills but also developed personally—embracing leadership, expression, and community service. The Rukmini Foundation’s efforts created a platform where these young individuals could shine, dream, and step forward with confidence.
