Sunita Lo

Sunita Lo

Sunita is one of the new scholars from one of the more remote villages that we have reached out to. Her family lives in a village called, Sisneri in the Makawanpur region. There are 6 people in her family and Sunita is the oldest child. She has 2 younger sisters and a younger brother.

To get to school, she has to walk more than 5 kilometers each way. Panchakanya Secondary School is located in another village, Bhandarkharka. Her father works as labor in Kathmandu in construction, so he has to spend a lot of time away from family. Her mother stays home and looks after household chores, and she also has to work in her family farm. Her father’s income is the main source of the family’s livelihood so things are difficult for her family.

Foundation team speaking with Sunita

Sunita loves reading and writing in Nepali. She wants to be a teacher someday. Besides school, she also loves to dance when she has time, but she is also very busy looking after her younger siblings and helping her mother with household work. Despite having a difficult journey each day she loves going to school and learning.
